I’m Alex Meed, a software developer, political junkie, and public-speaking enthusiast from the area of Austin, TX. I’ve set up this website to hold a bit of information about me and serve as a unified place to host web apps that I want to publish. (None yet—but when I do have some, they’ll be linked at the bottom of this page.)
I graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in 2018 with a B.S. in Computer Science (Turing Scholars thesis: Object Synthesis with Genetic Algorithms), and am currently studying for the degree of Master of Public Affairs at UT Austin’s LBJ School. I’ve held software-engineering internships at Google, Airbnb, and Quora. I also served as a legislative aide for a member of the 86th Texas House of Representatives. After that, I spent the summer in the Travis County (TX) Planning and Budget Office.
In my spare time, I enjoy playing roguelike and roguelite video games—particularly the roguelikes Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup and Golden Krone Hotel and the roguelites Enter the Gungeon, FTL: Faster Than Light, and Teleglitch—as well as shopping online for suits and writing verbose prose (an example of which is visible on this website).
I’m on GitHub (MathSquared), LinkedIn (meedalexa), and Quora (also in Spanish).
